The trainers at LUMOS7 Pilates hold certifications that are recognized by the Pilates Method Alliance. We have high standards of our staff and are committed to continually growing and learning together.  We hope to provide the highest quality service with the most up to date knowledge of Pilates, exercise, and the human body. 


Employees at Lumos7 Pilates are eligible for benefits including free classes, paid time off, and paid continuing education/wellness.

Heidi Folkerds - Owner & Trainer

Heidi is the owner of Lumos7 Pilates and has a bachelor of arts degree in Health Exercise Science. She holds certifications through Balanced Body Pilates, TRX, Yoga, Spinning, Personal Training, Barre, and Insanity. She has over 10 years experience in the fitness and wellness industry. She believes that once she committed to practicing Pilates herself, for at least 3 days a week, she finally overcame pain from previous exercise related injuries and scoliosis. Her passion is to work with clients that have a strong desire to improve some aspect of their lives.

Lizzette Chapa - Trainer

Lizzette fell in love with Pilates while earning her BFA in dance from the University of Texas at Austin in 2017. Quickly after graduating she moved to Minneapolis, MN and joined Ananya Dance Theatre where she is currently dancing. Fascinated with how Pilates created space for her to dig deeper into mindful and restorative movement, she aims help others live their life pain free in all movement while creating strong minds and bodies. She loves using the Pilates method as a pathway to transform people’s mind-body connection and hopes to create an upbeat atmosphere, while also valuing the importance of personal connection to each individual that she crosses paths with. She is trained through Balanced Body Pilates.

Sara Sherva - Trainer

Sara is Stott trained and certified since 2014 and graduated from University of MN with a BS in Health and Wellness in 2011. She is also a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher. After trying many other forms of body work and therapies, Sara discovered Pilates and used it to rehabilitate her back from chronic pain. She was so intrigued and impressed by the effectiveness of Pilates, she trained to be an instructor. Sara loves assisting others in using Pilates to alleviate pain and discomfort, create strength and stability and discover capabilities. She wants her clients to continue moving and living with strength and vitality.


When Sara is not in the studio she enjoys learning, traveling, reading and eating good food.

Johnna Stob - Trainer

Johnna is a Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation Practitioner and was a Physical Therapist Assistant (1999-2021). She graduated in 2013 from her comprehensive Pilates program. She says "I appreciate the mind-body approach that Pilates offers. It is my goal to educate clients about muscles and structure which helps to deepen their understanding of their bodies and movement. Through the use of Pilates principles and techniques, I strive to create programs and classes that are holistic in nature to re-educate and re-pattern muscles for optimal mechanical advantage and ease of movement."

Katharine Wood - Manager and Trainer

Katharine has been doing Pilates since 2016 and teaching since 2020. She loves the endless variety and that Pilates is adaptable to any body. She is trained through Balanced Body. She worked in market research and museum evaluation for a number of years prior and brings her experience in project management, administration, and customer service to her managerial role at Lumos7. She loves doing Pilates, Iyengar yoga, making art, and reading in her spare time.

Emily Fehr - Trainer

After practicing massage for the 10 years Emily started to desire new ways of looking at the body and helping people feel connected to themselves. She found Pilates and fell in love. She likes the idea of being able to create a positive movement experience for someone. She appreciates the functional aspect of Pilates: strength, control, balance, endurance, mind-body connection and creativity all in a session.

Emily is PoleStar trained and certified. She graduated in 2019 and has taken CE Courses through Polestar and PRI.

When she's not teaching she loves cooking, taking walks around the lakes, camping, taking trips with friends and focusing on her own health and well being.

Hannah Okray - Trainer

Hannah completed her STOTT Pilates training in 2016 at Pacific Northwest Pilates in Portland, Oregon. After an injury led her to Pilates, she quickly became fascinated with the system and the sense of agency and connection Pilates gave her with her body. Hannah uses creative cueing and compassion to help clients have a better understanding of their body mechanics. Her belief that everyone deserves to learn how to move and live with greater ease and less pain makes her a great instructor for all ages and abilities. Hannah is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and has a B.S. in Kinesiology.

Kendahl Theresa - Trainer

Kendahl loves helping students discover the incredible benefits of an ongoing Pilates practice. She provides thoughtful, detailed and personalized instruction helping students get the most out of their movement. She is a classically trained instructor with 6+ years experience in teaching all types of bodies at every level. Kendahl especially enjoys working with students who are goal-oriented and dedicated to deepening their understanding of the Pilates Method.
